About Me
Hi there, I’m Phillipe (fil-LEAP) Cunningham!
I’m driven by a deep belief in the power of learning and leadership as forces to further the common good. My passion for designing transformative learning experiences is rooted in my own lived experience as someone with intersectionally marginalized identities and my journey navigating systems not built with leaders like me in mind.
I understand firsthand how access to intentional, learning experiences and values-driven leadership development can change lives—not just for individuals, but for entire communities and beyond. That’s why I’ve spent over 15 years designing programs, facilitating learning and collaboration spaces, and coaching changemakers to step boldly into their power, amplify their voices, and create meaningful, sustainable impact. Whether I’m leading a six-month hybrid leadership academy, facilitating scenario-planning processes with national movement leaders, or coaching diverse entrepreneurs, my goal remains the same: to create inclusive, engaging spaces for transformative growth and changemaking collaboration where people can see themselves as leaders and architects of change for good.
I’m proud to have led prestigious programs like the Obama Leaders USA Program and the Dr. Josie R. Johnson Leadership Academy, collaborating with incredible minds, including President Barack Obama, MacArthur Genius Grant recipients, Shonda Rhimes, and Stephen Spielberg. These experiences have reinforced my belief that leadership is both an individual journey and a collective responsibility.
My work blends experiential adult learning, changemaking leadership principles, democracy, and cultural intelligence, ensuring that every program, workshop, and coaching session is rooted in authenticity and built for real-world impact.
In every project, I bring a commitment to:
Co-Creation: Partnering with organizations to design learning experiences that reflect the realities of their program participants.
Practical Application: Ensuring every insight and tool can be applied in real-world scenarios.
Whole-Person Development: Balancing professional growth with personal well-being and sustainability.
When I’m not designing programs or facilitating workshops, you’ll find me writing my upcoming book, managing the Excellence in Changemaking Institute or my family’s pet rescue nonprofit, or mentoring emerging leaders navigating their own changemaking journeys.
Let’s connect and explore how we can transform learning, leadership, and strategy into meaningful progress - together!
